QSR International is committed to providing industry-leading safeguards for the security and privacy of customer data. As such we are pleased to confirm that we are now HIPAA compliant.

What is HIPAA?

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, better known as HIPAA, is United States legislation that provides data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information, referred to in the Act as Protected Health Information (PHI). HIPAA compliant practices are considered the most secure with regards to PHI.

What does HIPAA compliance mean for our customers?

For academic, healthcare and medical researchers using the products of a HIPAA-compliant organization is critical.  Researchers in other fields can also take comfort in the level of data protection afforded by the strict regulations and conditions required by the Act.

Under HIPPA, QSR International is held to the same stringent HIPAA compliance obligations as health care and medical insurance providers, with all PHI subject to additional physical and technical safeguards and enhanced security controls.

It is for this reason that all NVivo Transcription users can be satisfied that their PHI will be kept secure and private throughout their use of the application.

How can customers learn more?

We have a designated HIPAA officer responsible for implementing and maintaining our HIPAA policies and procedures throughout our organization and products, and the contact email address is dataprotectionofficer@qsrinternational.com.
