As teacher preparation programs expand, so do the challenges of managing diverse student pathways, navigating limited and shifting placement availability, and maintaining meaningful faculty and supervisor support. The administrative work required to coordinate field experiences, track assessments, and engage site partners often outpaces the capacity of existing systems—leaving programs stretched thin and student experiences fragmented.
This session from the 2026 AACTE Annual Meeting (American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education) explores how institutions are addressing these challenges by redesigning their placement and assessment workflows to increase visibility, reduce administrative burden, and better support students and faculty at scale. Drawing on real examples from the field, the presenters will highlight the common patterns emerging across programs and share how universities are approaching systemic change with tools like Lumivero’s Experiential Learning Cloud (formerly Tevera) as one enabling system. These shifts are not just operational—they’re foundational to improving student outcomes, demonstrating program effectiveness, and sustaining long-term institutional impact.
Presenters Breanna Atlee, a former classroom teacher, student teacher supervisor, and experienced placement coordinator, and Elaine Wargo, a longtime operational leader focused on optimizing complex workflows, bring complementary perspectives to the conversation. Together, they’ll illustrate what it looks like to operationalize care at scale—grounded in real-world challenges and designed around the needs of students, faculty, and field partners.
