How do you quantify the potential value of new information before investing?

Join Tim Nieman, Founder of Decision Applications, as he demonstrates two approaches for conducting Value of Information (VOI) analysis. You’ll see how VOI can be performed using decision trees in PrecisionTree and Monte Carlo simulation in @RISK and explore the trade-offs analysts face when choosing between simpler models and more complex—but potentially more accurate—approaches.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Apply VOI concepts and understand their utility for making information-related decisions
  • Perform VOI analysis using both PrecisionTree decision trees and @RISK Monte Carlo simulation
  • Identify potential errors from discretization when using decision trees
  • Evaluate the trade-offs between quick, simple models and more complex, accurate approaches
  • Use AI to help check models, methods, and analytical results
