Maria K. E. Lahman, PhD, is a Professor of Qualitative Methodology in the Department of Applied Statistics and Research Methods at the University of Northern Colorado in Colorado, USA. Her teaching expertise encompasses research ethics and qualitative research methodology. Dr. Lahman brings extensive experience to her field, including serving as an Institutional Review Board (IRB) Chair for over 16 years. A prolific author, she has published multiple articles and textbooks, including the text Ethics in Social Science Research: Becoming Culturally Responsive. Her primary specialization is the advancement of culturally responsive, ethical research, with a particular emphasis on research representations, mothering, and young children.
