After joining the newly formed Boston University Wheelock College of Education and Human Development, I was tasked with leading a project to centralize and streamline the new college’s field placement data management. We were working with various spreadsheets up to that point, which was slow, inconsistent, and inefficient, so no longer viable.

Key to the centralization initiative was Sonia. The BU School of Social Work was using Sonia to support their placement management needs, so we decided to develop our use of this software as well.

Sonia has provided us with many benefits.

It’s faster and easier for us to:

  • Maintain and track data
  • Manage compliance with university and site requirements
  • Communicate with staff, students, and supervisors
  • Have assessments completed on time

Sonia has helped us to centralize managing placements, which has made all our jobs easier!
